Thanks to a good buy on some old computers we’re getting rid of at work I just acquired a computer to use in the kitchen so I can watch TV while I’m cooking. So a $30 Gateway Profile computer, Ubuntu, and an install of the SageTV Placeshifter Client for linux and I’m done. Well I’m almost done I still need to run a network cable up through the wall but that’s a minor issue that I’ll take care of tonight. The computer is mounted so I can swivel it around to be viewable while sitting at the table also.
The picture is just after I got it mounted under the cabinet. I still need to get the power cabling up and out of the way and I’ll be using a different keyboard. I haven’t really go to test to see if the built in speakers are going to be quite loud enough yet, I already have a plan though if I need to add an extra set.
