It was pretty cold this morning so when I got in the truck I started it up and sat there for a few waiting for the engine to warm up. While I was sitting there I looked at the bottle of water in the cup holder and wondered if it was frozen. I picked up the bottle and the water was still liquid, so I shook it to see if there were any ice chunks in it. To my surprise over the next few seconds I watched as the water in the bottle froze fairly solid.
I knew water could be super heated so that it would flash boil when agitated but I hadn’t pondered if the reverse was true. After seeing it first hand this morning I went looking for more examples.
