Summary: Best burgers in Columbus. Come hungry but be prepared to wait at peak times.
We’ve been going to Thurman’s for lunch for over 10 years now and I’ve never had a burger that wasn’t excellent. They’ve been family owned since 1942 and they’ve stuck to a formula that seems to work very well. Their burgers are huge and cooked to perfection, with some unique topping configurations. Their pizza thins and pizza subs are also great.
We’ve always had great service too. We’ve never had to wait very long for drinks or to order. Special orders on things almost always come out correct.
The only downside to the place is really the seating capacity. My rough estimate is maybe seating for 40-50 max. with a decent size lobby. If you go during the lunch rush or in the evenings be prepared for a wait, sitting at the bar is a good option if your party is small.
My Favorite Dish: The Western Burger – Originally on their specials menu, I kept ordering it even though it wasn’t on the menu anymore. Maybe I was responsible for it’s permanent addition to the menu.
